Influencers on Twitter cherished Coinbase public debut on Nasdaq

California-based cryptocurrency exchange platform Coinbase Global, Inc. (Coinbase) made its Nasdaq debut on 14 April 2021. Against this backdrop, the company witnessed a 500% jump in influencer conversations on Twitter during the third week of April 2021 over the previous week, according to GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company.

Coinbase’s share price soared above US$380, when compared to its reference price of US$250. The company’s valuation surged above US$100bn, significantly higher than the Intercontinental Exchange and Nasdaq.

Smitarani Tripathy, Influencer Analyst at GlobalData, comments: “The influencers see the company’s move for public listing as a driver for cryptocurrency market validation and capitalize on crypto bull run. The influencers’ sentiment was largely positive on the company’s move for public listing, which according to them, may work as a barometer for growing adoption of cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash.”
