India's tech hiring for Google, Meta, and Amazon is slowing down
India's hiring of tech professionals has decreased as a result of business developments at multinational corporations like Google, Meta, and Amazon. There are 90% fewer job postings available now than there were in 2022.
We have witnessed companies like Google, Meta and even Amazon handing out the pink slips in India this year and most of them have been attributed to performance-related issues but most likely, it was done to restructure the business and reduce their expenses. It is anticipated that businesses will continue to prioritise restructuring and cost-cutting until 2024. For those with particular talents in technology, there are still chances.
It is also true that in the next few years, tech companies will adopt AI and it is rumoured that technology giants like Google are already planning for it. For this the company may lay off as many as 30,000 employees.
Google is also testing AI in its customer support service these days which has a direct impact on the human-side of operations at the company. The company’s CEO claimed, “it would have been a major overhang on the company. I think it would have made it very difficult in a year like this with such a big shift in the world to create the capacity to invest in areas.”
But luckily it’s not all doom and gloom for techies looking for jobs in the country, as the hiring will happen, especially their specialisation matches the top job profiles that companies are eager to build and hire people for. People who are in the right profession might have to upskill to become a popular choice among the big companies that will be hiring in the next few quarters.
