Industry stalwarts representing various segments of the broadcast value chain from production to workflow and content delivery will participate at BroadcastAsia2017. They include veteran exhibitors Canara Lighting Industries, Interra Systems, Planetcast Media Services, Prime Focus Technologies, RGB Broadcasting Equipment, Wasp3d, and first-time exhibitors Corpus Media Labs, YUPPTV.

On India’s overall participation at the events, Calvin Koh, Assistant Project Director (Communications Events), UBM SES, oraganizers of CommunicAsia and BroadcastAsia, says, “India has had a steady presence at the events over the last few years. As Indian companies continue to expand regionally and internationally, CommunicAsia and BroadcastAsia serves as an ideal platform to showcase their latest innovations to an international market.”

1,700 exhibitors from 58 countries and 38 international pavilions will present an ecosystem of the latest technologies and innovations companies and governments need to keep up with in this digital era. CommunicAsia and BroadcastAsia 2017 will span 65,000 sqm across Marina Bay Sands and Suntec Singapore, and is expected to receive 48,000 attendees.

According to reports the smart cities market size is estimated to grow to US$757.74 billion by 2020, at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 19.4%. Smart Cities India is all set to become the most-populous country in the world by 2030, making it the home to the biggest and the most under-penetrated market for global manufacturers and service providers. It is estimated that about 25–30 people will migrate every minute to major Indian cities from rural areas. With this momentum, about 843 million people are expected to live in urban areas by 2050. To accommodate this massive urbanization, India needs to find smarter ways to manage complexities, reduce expenses, increase efficiency and improve the quality of life.

Recognizing the growing need for technology in the region, CommunicAsia and EnterpriseIT bring together global ICT players providing the innovations that are enabling digital transformation of businesses and cities across Asia. Spanning the whole fifth level of Marina Bay Sands, NXTCommunicAsia is a Smart Cities showcase dedicated to future-ready solutions in Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Cloud, IoT, Cybersecurity, Robotics and AR/VR. NXT will also feature Disrupt+, a brand new area dedicated to start-ups. The event’s first-ever Startup Alley will house more than 30 start-ups and SeedStarsWorld competition in the emerging markets will also make its debut at CommunicAsia, hosting the Singapore leg of their international competition.

More than 230 C-Suite and senior business leaders from top tech conglomerates address key considerations and offer valuable insights on navigating today’s hyper-connected landscape at the CommunicAsia2017 Summit. Rohit Talwar, CEO of Fast Future Research, will deliver this year’s Visionary Address titled – Artificial Intelligence vs Genuine Stupidity – Navigating Exponential Technologies to Create a Very Human Future.

This year, CommunicAsia Summit will also see Indian speakers Narinder Chhibber, Secretary General, Pacific Telecommunications Council India, presenting a session on “Challenges of Building Smart Cities in Developing Countries: Strategies in India; and Piyush Gupta, Senior Executive Vice-President, Head – Group Shared Services and Business Operations Center, on “Leverage Typical Shared Service Competencies and Then Elevate to Ground Zero to Push Value for the Organization – Shared Services”.

The Indian media & entertainment sector is expected to grow at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 14.3 per cent to US$33.9 billion by 2020. Held alongside CommunicAsia2017, BroadcastAsia2017 will present an ecosystem of the latest end-to-end solutions and game-changing products for next-generation broadcasting needed to stay ahead of the curve.

In the next four years, the AR (Augmented Reality) and VR market is forecast to grow to US$80 billion, and in keeping broadcasters and content creators in the region up-to-date with emerging technology in this space, 2017 will see the launch of the first-ever Virtual Reality Zone at BroadcastAsia.
