Indian Bank donates Rs. 1 Crore to Tamil Nadu’s fight against COVID-19
Indian Bank’s MD & CEO, Padmaja Chunduru has handed over a cheque of Rs. 1,00,00,000/- (Rs. One Crore only) to Shri K Shanmugam, IAS, Chief Secretary to Govt of Tamil Nadu for the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund as a gesture of empathy and support to the people of Tamil Nadu to fight against COVID19. She also handed over a cheque of Rs. 25,38,514/- (Rs. Twenty Five Lakhs Thirty Eight Thousand Five Hundred and Fourteen only) being contribution from the employees of Tamilnadu Grama Bank (TNGB), the RRB sponsored by Indian Bank.
Indian Bank stands firmly with the Government in this hour of need and extends full support by offering seamless important banking services to the customers and the general public, except wherever the district administration has ordered not to function. Banks’ ATMs are consistently helping to provide currency services and at the same time the digital Banking channels are optimally functioning to ensure the flow of transactions.
The Bank is also equally concerned and taking care of its employees and maintaining the COVID-19 Care Cautions by provisioning the personal protective equipment and ensuring safe distancing norms. Earlier the Bank had launched COVID emergency loans for MSMEs, Corporates, Pensioners and Salaried employees, special assistance to the SHGs, poultry and Agri industry to support their business needs during the COVID situation.
