IGL meeting the gas requirements of capital city

Formed in the year 1998, IGL operates primarily in Delhi. In 1999, it took over the project of gas distribution in Delhi from GAIL. The project was started to lay the network for the distribution of natural gas in the National Capital Territory of Delhi to consumers in the domestic, transport, and commercial sectors. With the backing of strong promoters IGL plans to provide natural gas in the entire capital region.
IGL has signed an agreement with Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) for a period of ten years till December 2030 to supply CNG gas. The relationship between IGL and DTC dates backto inception of IGL and has been mutually beneficial for both organisations and DTC has been one of the largest customers of IGL.
During the FY 2019-20, IGL has provided 2.72 lakh new connections for piped cooking gas to household kitchens. Also, the firm has set up 55 new CNG stations during April 2019 and March 2020, taking the total number of CNG stations set to 557.
