Huawei organizes 2nd edition of Broader Way Forum

Huawei India held the 2nd edition of its Broader Way Forum in New Delhi with the key theme of “Enabling Digital India through FMC 2.0”.
FMC 2.0 as a concept lays emphasis on network convergence with balanced broadband growth which will truly enable a Digital India. Network convergence coupled with Content is a differentiator and would aid carriers in the country to monetize their business. The event attracted Government and industry elites, technology experts, opinion leaders and partners to exchange their viewpoints on the development trends in the FMC 2.0 era and new business opportunities for the industry.
The event was inaugurated today by Manoj Sinha, Hon’ble Minister of State (I/C) for Communications and Minister of State for Railways of the Government of India; R. S. Sharma, Chairman, TRAI; J. S. Deepak, Secretary, DoT; Jay Chen, CEO, Huawei Telecommunications India, along with other key government representatives and Huawei management. The forum highlighted Huawei's perseverance in enabling issues that relate to the future of broadband and showcased the importance of convergence of Fixed and Mobile Broadband technologies with a focus on content, in the journey of India’s digital transformation.
The Borader Way Forum was launched originally in February 2012 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and, since then, is considerd to be a platform for discussions to propel the ICT industry forward driven by broadband. The current edition of the India Broader Way Forum takes forward the discussion on FMC 2.0, which entails a high-quality user experience through a partnership-driven, user-centric model, comprised of business monetization, robust network construction, and unified network transformation.
Manoj Sinha, Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Communications & Minister of State in the Ministry of Railways, said, “We are marching towards a Digital India and broadband networks along with content services will soon become indispensable like roads, railways, electricity supply, etc. Such initiatives are of pronounced importance for the progress of the nation and contribute greatly to the Government of India’s flagship initiatives like Digital India and Smart Cities. Industry collaboration and discussion on Huawei FMC 2.0 platform will further accelerate next level of innovations in the Indian ICT industry.”
