HPE to deliver unrivaled Hybrid IT solutions with acquisition of SIMPLIVITY

SimpliVity provides SDDC (software-defined data center) architecture and HCI technology. Though SimpliVity was founded in 2009, it began product shipments in 2012. To address the growing competition in the Industry Simplivity and HPE will provide best-in-class infrastructure, automation and cloud management software with SimpliVity’s industry-leading software-defined data management platform, it’ll deliver the best and most comprehensive hyperconverged offering to the market.
Adding SimpliVity’s innovative technology to our hyperconverged portfolio provides significant additional benefits, including:
* Built-in enterprise data protection and resiliency to simplify backup and quickly restore operations
* Enterprise storage utilization and virtual machine (VM) efficiency to control costs and performance
* Always-on compression and deduplication that guarantees 90 percent capacity savings across storage and backup
* Policy-based VM-centric management to simplify operations and enable data mobility, making development teams and end users more productive
* he addition of disaster recovery to our existing hyperconverged use cases — VM vending, VDI, and Enterprise ROBO/LoB
It will benefits to build off the existing and new customers, by using the combination of HPE Synergy and HPE 3PAR All-Flash Storage within the composable infrastructure. Together, these solutions, along with the recent acquisition of Cloud Cruiser, will continue to accelerate the ability to deliver unrivaled Hybrid IT solutions to our customers and partners around the world. For SimpliVity customers and partners, there will be no immediate changes. In the near future, we will bring our technologies together in a powerful way. To start, HPE will offer the SimpliVity OmniStack software qualified for ProLiant DL380 servers. Customers may order this new offering today with a targeted delivery date in May.
HPE to focus more on existing hyperconverged products, the Hyper Converged 380 and the Hyper Converged 250 and provide a pathway to the SimpliVity based-offerings. In the second half of 2017, HPE and SimpliVity will bring together, providing customers game-changing innovations like “workspace” controls, which provide business leaders and developers with simple self-service portals to compose virtualized and containerized resources and enhanced business insight, including predictive analytics. This will give IT managers the tools they need to increase resource utilization and proactively respond to needs for new resources.
