Honeywell helps Data Center Investment Returns in India
Honeywell has led a conversation regarding necessary data center technology solutions to empower organizations throughout India and position the country as a leader in the industry. The conversation focused on technology investments that can improve data center uptime, create more sustainable solutions and increase multi-level security.
In the last 10 years, there has been a significant increase in the cost of data center downtime, which amounts to ~INR 6.7 lakh per minute.
Honeywell, a developer of data center technology, offers connected data center solutions that can integrate complex data center operations into one platform to deliver users with the information they need to create a safer, more secure and resilient infrastructure. In 2020, Honeywell also announced its partnership with Vertiv, a leader in power and thermal solutions for data centers, to expand offerings beyond its existing portfolio in safety, security, and building management systems.
Honeywell’s connected data center solutions can:
· help optimize uptime towards 100% by deploying a variety of technologies and tools
· reduce maintenance cost by 4-10% through an outcome vs. activity-based approach, helping increase return on investment and uptime for data center players in country
· dynamically optimize operating parameters to reduce energy costs
Data centers in 2018 consumed approximately 1% of the world's energy use. The industry is making great strides to reduce and offset energy demands, including increasing the use of renewable energy.
Ashish Modi, President, Honeywell Building Technologies, Asia, says, “Downtime, high energy costs, and data security are key challenges faced by data center leaders around the world. As India’s data center industry grows, Honeywell’s connected and integrated technology solutions can help solve these issues and help meet the larger sustainability goals.”
In today’s world, data is a highly coveted commodity. Honeywell solutions foster a more secure environment by reducing safety and security risks in facilities. Features such as integrated asset and life safety protection, operation technology (OT) cybersecurity solutions, multi-layered perimeter access, early warning smoke detection, situational awareness and threat management help operators identify and react to critical incidents quickly and ensure data security.
Many of Honeywell’s connected data center solutions are being developed in India, accelerating the Government of India’s vision for Digital India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
