Haier India with Aarohan to give quality education to girl students
Haier in association with Aarohan, a non-governmental organization, has opened its first CoE (Centre for Excellence) at Nehru Smarak Inter College of Sakipur Village, Zeta I, Greater Noida. In a first of its kind for Haier, the pilot program will be providing supplemental education to 120 girl students from classes 9th to 12th and will continue to enroll a fresh batch of students each year to make it a sustainable effort. As part of this CSR initiative, the company plans to increase the number of students every year in a sustainable effort.
Taking inspiration from UN’s Sustainable Development Goal, Haier seeks to eliminate gender disparity in education and ensure that the girl students are provided with relevant educational and technical skills to be able to become self-reliant and self-sustainable tomorrow. In collaboration with Aarohan, the company will be focusing on foundational teaching, digital literacy, personality development, nutrition and healthcare of the students through innovative and new-age learning modules like smart classes and interactive sessions.
Through a stringent hiring programme, the center has employed teaching experts in core subjects like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English to ensure students get the additional after-school support with their curriculum. These daily classroom sessions focus on learning not by rote but by using interactive smart tools that aid in better retention of knowledge which is regularly mapped through evaluation tests to track improvement in learning outcomes.

Haier India’s Center for Excellence is equipped with a world-class computer lab, smart boards and LED TVs, air conditioners and refrigerator to create a holistic learning experience while ensuring a healthy environment for the students. The centre aims to decrease the learning gap by imparting skill-based knowledge to the students.
The inauguration witnessed the presence of Eric Braganza, President, Haier Appliances India; Satish N.S., Senior Vice President - Sales and Marketing, Haier Appliances India; Rani Patel, Founder President, Aarohan along with the school’s principal, teachers, students and parents.
