Growth and abuse of GenAI
Generative AI is a type of artificial intelligence that can generate new content, such as text, code, images, and music. It has grown rapidly in recent years, thanks to advances in machine learning and computing power. Some of the most well-known GenAI models include GPT-3, Dall-E 2, and Jukebox.
GenAI, is at the vanguard of the AI revolution, enabling robots’ limitless creative and problem-solving potential. GenAI represents a crucial fusion of cutting-edge technology and human creativity in a world where artificial intelligence continuously pushes the bounds of what is possible. This new area of AI goes beyond simple prediction and is classified by using machines to produce content, data, and solutions that closely mimic human information.
The growth of GenAI has been driven by a number of factors, including:
· Tech companies such as Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI have invested heavily in GenAI research and development.
· The development of GenAI models requires large amounts of data. The rise of the internet and cloud computing has made it easier to collect and store data.
· Machine learning algorithms have become more sophisticated in recent years, making it possible to train GenAI models on more complex data and generate more realistic outputs.
Abuse of GenAI
With any powerful technology, GenAI can be abused. Some of the potential risks of GenAI include:
· Deepfakes: GenAI can be used to create realistic but fake videos and audio recordings. These deepfakes can be used to spread misinformation, damage reputations, and even interfere in elections.
· Spam and phishing: GenAI can be used to generate mass amounts of spam and phishing emails. These emails can be used to steal personal information and spread malware.
· Bias: GenAI models can be biased if they are trained on biased data. This can lead to discriminatory outputs, such as racist or sexist text or images.
Generative AI is rapidly reshaping the world around us, infiltrating virtually every sector and showcasing incredible potential.
Looking at the future horizon in 2024, digital disruptions, growth and abuse of GenAI, potential hard landing of US economy, aging population and climate change/disasters are the mega forces that will come into play big time! Countries like India, Malaysia, Vietnam, Mexico and Indonesia will attract investments due to potential high return but associated risks will be higher too.
