Fortinet opens Wi-Fi R&D Centre in India

To further strengthen the Network Security and enterprise/infrastructure Wi-Fi solutions market, Fortinet has opened its Innovation and R&D centre in Bengaluru. It is the state-of- the-art R&D facility and also the second-biggest facility after North America, where there will be a dedicated team of 120 Top Qualified engineers who are going to work in the facility.

As the public cloud market is estimated to be $191 billion soon, Fortinet is committed to be the No. 1 Network Security Company in the Globe. Today, Fortinet has 100 offices worldwide, with a strong team of 4,500+ employees, supports to 2,85,000 customers. Developing Global Wi-Fi Technologies, the R&D team has influenced Wi-Fi standards, obtained 300+ patents,250 patents are pending as on date and conducted pivotal engineering work to develop Fortinet’s enterprise/infrastructure Wi-Fi solutions. The team at the Fortinet Innovation Centre will develop state-of-the-art algorithms that secure large enterprise networks running mobile and IoT devices, and location-based services.

This year alone, Gartner forecasts that 6.4 billion connected things will be in use worldwide in 2016, up 30 per cent from 2015. The figure will hit 20.8 billion by 2020. While a majority of businesses are already leveraging the advantages of connected IoT (Internet of Things) devices, 92% of security professionals are concerned about the security challenges posed by these billions of devices.
