EMC survey focusses on Big Data adoption trends in India
EMC has released the findings of a survey that asked IT decision-makers in India for their perspective on the challenges and opportunities that Big Data and IT transformation and related skills can present to their companies. The India results will be added among the thirty-six country-level survey results being collected through EMC Forum events. EMC polled a total of 309 business and IT decision-makers and executives, technical architects, data scientists and storage/infrastructure managers from a range of Indian businesses who registered to attend the EMC Forum event in India.
The key findings of the survey include 26% of the companies surveyed have no current plans for implementing Big Data technology; 92% of the companies in India agree that their business sees technology investment as a strategic way of achieving its goals; 79% of the respondents report that they have the correct level of skills and knowledge in place to complete their business priorities successfully, whereas 82% of the respondents in India report that ensuring skills keep pace with the rate of IT innovation will be a challenge for their organizations over the next three years.

The top three drivers for the transformation of IT systems and infrastructure in India are: Business process/operational efficiencies (61%), improved governance and compliance (46%), and enhancing customer experience/engagement/communications (45%).
