Elitecore Technologies revamps Wi-Fi SMP
In a bid to provide enhanced features in existing modules of its converged Wi-Fi SMP to the carrier Wi-Fi market, which will help operators deploy customer-centric next-generation services in a heterogeneous 4G-LTE network while accelerating time-to-market for innovative plans, Elitecore Technologies has introduced enhanced Wi-Fi at Mobile World Congress.
The upgraded features include Evolved AAA which addresses authentication challenges of subscribers in LTE supporting DIAMETER-based EAP authentication along with RADIUS-based authentication for RADIUS supportive networks like Wi-Fi. Designed with an advanced scripting capability, the Evolved AAA helps efficient communication on LTE network to quickly deliver customization and solve interoperability challenges.
Dhaval Vora, Vice-President, Product Management, Elitecore, said, “In order to roll out services simultaneously across LTE, 3G and Wi-Fi, operators face challenges in maintaining IP session continuity for users when changing the network access mode. Our new features like Evolved AAA and LTE Wi-Fi interworking have been designed for service continuity and efficient data offload.”
Furthermore, the Evolved AAA feature supports LTE Wi-Fi interworking by providing the Wx interface support for HSS authentication over LTE network for additional Authentication parameters.
