Edge computing to take centre stage
Magical shifts have been seen during the COVID-19 period and we would say there has been a Golden moment for all the cloud Providers, secondly there has been a great talent drive by the cloud companies including AWS, Azure and Google hired the best talents who are essentially having the experience of client facing executives. As the time is passing covid situation is getting better off, now the world has seen a sea change in the technological needs of businesses.
The accelerated migration of applications and workloads towards the cloud, the emergence of new architectures and new options for deploying applications have been the positive changes observed post the pandemic. The migration of on-premise applications to the cloud has been ongoing for the past decade, but the past two years have compelled companies to speed up the process considerably.
The pandemic forced all of us to find a new way of working, having a productive life, and accelerating the migration to the cloud turned out to be the best way to meet those needs. With deployments of IoT devices and the arrival of 5G fast wireless, placing compute, storage, and analytics close to where data is created is making the case for edge computing.
Edge data centers are witnessing an increase in the demand and are now starting to take centre stage. With an increase in the data penetration due to factors such as rise in users for OTT and Social Media platforms, edge computing is helping in improving the experience of users & customers.
The New Edge in Edge Computing, balances the ways in which edge is helping organisations and changing the dynamics and change in infrastructure of the industry and ways in which edge computing will continue to grow further including others.
As far as the overall IT solutions adoption in India is concerned, smaller businesses are migrating to the cloud faster. “It is simpler for them to adopt the cloud model because they have a standard set of processes that have not been highly customized. But even larger enterprises are pushing the envelope, and opting for the cloud.
The applications on the mobile phones are the use cases of edge computing. Any area be it e-commerce, logistics or content delivery, we don’t think mobile can work without edge computing. 100% of the applications use edge computing, be it any industry. Secondly, if an organisation wants to reach its customers with a better service, edge computing is the best option as it is impossible to make your application work without edge computing.
