DMart names CB Bhave, former SEBI chief as Chairman
The parent firm of the DMart retail chain, Avenue Supermarts, has appointed Chandrashekhar B. Bhave, former SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India) head, as Chairman of the Board. DMart filed an exchange statement stating that Bhave will take over on April 1.
He has served on the boards of private firms like Tejas Networks, Niva Bupa Health Insurance Co., Vistaar Financial Services, and Mahindra and Mahindra Financial Services.
Former bureaucrat, Bhave held the position of SEBI Chairman from 2008 to 2011 and a senior executive director from 1992 to 1996. Prior to that, he was an Indian administrative service officer who held different positions with various state and central governments.
