Dell EMC modernizes Data Center of Just Dial

Dell EMC has announced that Just Dial, which provides Online Shopping services, has successfully completed its implementation of new all-flash storage, elastic cloud storage and data protection solutions from Dell EMC. Just Dial has selected Dell EMC to help it gain better control of its IT infrastructure through consolidation, virtualization and automation. The Dell EMC XtremIO all-flash storage platform along with ECS and Avamar deployments will help Just Dial significantly increase application performance and efficiency over a traditional SAN platform.

Just Dial completed an evaluation of XtremIO where it observed performance gains of 60% and a reduction of database query time by 30-40%, leading to faster response times, which is essential for any search engine.

Deploying XtremIO solid-state storage will help Just Dial save on electricity and cooling costs. XtremIO’s storage density will also help reduce the company’s data center footprint.

EMC Elastic Cloud Storage (ECS) will help lower storage costs by up to 80% by reducing the storage footprint, improved disk utilization and lower management and administration overhead.   

Dell EMC Avamar, which is used by Just Dial in multiple locations, will help ensure protection of its database. Data restore is faster and backup time is reduced compared to traditional backup systems. By moving to Avamar, Just Dial was able to reduce administration costs by almost 90%, requiring fewer IT staff to manage 24/7 backup operations.
