CSC penetrating e-Services in rural & remote areas through its network

The Common Service Centres (CSCs), under the Digital India and Programme of the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP), are the facilities which deliver Government of India’s e-Services to rural and remote locations. The centres are the access points for delivery of essential public utility services, social welfare schemes, healthcare, financial, education and agriculture services, apart from host of B2C services to citizens in rural and remote areas of the country. The centres are spread across India enabling the Government’s mandate of a socially, financially and digitally inclusive society.
To penetrate the wireless connectivity in the country, the organization has come up with CSC PM WANI program. The government has approved a framework for the proliferation of public Wi-Fi networks through the PM WANI Scheme. CSC has also partnered with Fortis Memorial Research Institute (FMRI) Gurugram to extend the benefits of telemedicine services through its network of 3.76 lakh CSCs across the country. Super-speciality teleconsultations with doctors from FMRI will be provided to citizens particularly in rural and remote areas at an affordable price.
