Cloud to Multicloud
Today, most organizations are looking to scale their applications and data across several diverse providers, and combine hosted infrastructure with private cloud and on-premises IT in response to ever-evolving business requirements.
Data has become the most valuable business asset and using it to its full potential should help organizations to be agile. Knowing the customer and the market, but also getting real-time analysis can make a huge difference and be a competitive advantage.
Generally, moving from a single cloud provider to a multicloud strategy involves utilizing services and resources from multiple cloud vendors. This approach offers benefits such as increased redundancy, improved performance, and reduced vendor lock-in. It allows organizations to choose the best services from different providers and optimize their cloud infrastructure to suit their specific needs. As more organizations are shifting infrastructure and services to the cloud, more are adopting a multi-cloud strategy.
Secondly, we can’t deny the fact that, cloud computing, whether adopted as part of a single, hybrid, or multi-cloud model, can be a significant enabler for organizations to achieve progress and improvements in various areas of their business. It provides scalability, flexibility, and access to a wide range of services and resources.
Cloud experts define that, multicloud has various interpretations, each offering different levels of resilience and reliability for bank payment platforms. Financial institutions may believe they have implemented a true multicloud model, but discrepancies in definitions can lead to confusion.
Apart from all the benefits of a multi-cloud strategy, there are some challenges that come with it as well. Specifically, it can be difficult to secure a multi-cloud strategy because of a lack of visibility across hosts and services. That makes it easier for hackers to find exploitable vulnerabilities within an organization’s infrastructure and it also makes it more difficult to meet compliance mandates.
