CISCO India Summit on it’s fifth edition themed” The Future Reimagine”, speakers focus on CISCO’s intuitive, intent based technology will influence our future ,starting from Autonomous cars to blockchain and AI, technology has entered every sphere of the business.
CISCO created and reinvented the network, India is facing 20 billion cyber threats per day and the Banking and Financial Services Industry (BSFI) is facing 24% of it, through the talos engine we are blocking 20 billion threats a day, as per Sameer Garde, President- India & SAARC-CISCO India and also spoke about Digital transformation journey and how Network is core of digital transformation.
Sci-fi is emerging very fast and becoming the reality and the power of technology is making digitised faster, with this there is a transition happening from digitisation to cognification. Speaking at the two-day Cisco India Summit 2018 - with the theme ‘The Future. Reimagine’ - here, he said digital transformation of India's banking system has brought high risk to the industry. On his key note address Sameer focus on how to unlock the poser of data transmission. "Indian banks face heavy threats across the country, as 800 million accounts are linked and we are giving end-to end solutions to contain it. He added.
Garde said that Cisco has built the Talos team to protect an organisation’s people, data, and infrastructure. CISCO has committed for end to end security solutions and about 1000 people in India are working on R &D to strengthen the security and invested billions of dollar into strengthening security. "Our researchers, data scientists, and engineers collect information about existing and developing threats. We then deliver protection against attacks and malware. he said.
The Cisco India head also said the digital transformation will make another gold rush in the business. "The Gold Rush of 1849 was only $200 million and this 'Digital Rush' will create $80 trillion. Data is at real time value and here, everything we can think of will become digitised, sameer said.
CISCO has fallen in love with networking again and it is about how do you monetize simplicity with security as the fundamental. India is going to be a $6-trillion economy by 2020, with 2.50 lakh gram panchayat, it brings huge opportunity. In India, this growth will be very high as the data access to citizens is growing at a faster pace, with the New Telecom Policy as it is connecting all gram panchayats in the country with cheap internet connectivity. He has emphasised on the growth of CISCO in India, just only 5 IT/ITeS companies are using 2.19 billion Webex minutes a year and half a million of developers are developing on the top of WEBEX solutions and with this combined solutions being offered by CISCO, the growth opportunity in India seems exponential and the focused sectors are BFSI , enterprise, Smart city projects and SME segments in India.
The network and network security is very much critical for every organisation as it helps in unlocking the power of data and this will have time value by extracting info out of it. It is no longer on premise or on cloud environment. It is all about multi-cloud environment, and the core focus of CISCO to ensure security to the data and India business is leading with our software strategy transformation and seen the growth of 40%, Sameer said.
