ChatGPT to replace most of the Transactional jobs

With the emergence of ChatGPT, it brings a point of discussion at the board level on how to cut down the cost during this Global recession and it is already causing waves in the business world. It is true that ChatGPT and related AI could threaten some jobs, particularly white-collar ones. A report says, millions of expects across the globe are working to make the chatbot intelligent and powerful .

Google found that, in theory, the search engine would hire the bot as an entry-level coder if it interviewed at the company. At the same time, Amazon employees who tested ChatGPT said that the chatbot does a "very good job" at answering customer support questions, is "great" at making training documents, and is "very strong" at answering queries around corporate strategy.

Goldman Sachs suggests that generative AI has the potential to automate approximately 300 million full-time jobs worldwide, based on an analysis of data on occupational tasks in the US and Europe. The researchers say two-thirds of current jobs are exposed to some degree of AI automation, and generative AI could substitute up to a quarter of current work.

As Coding and computer programming are in-demand skills, but it's possible that ChatGPT and similar AI tools may fill in some of the gaps in the near future. Going forward, Tech jobs such as software developers, web developers, computer programmers, coders, and data scientists are "pretty amenable" to AI technologies "displacing more of their work. Whereas, a professor at Wharton business school said, AI will never be as good as the best experts in a field.

Automation of Technology to automate repetitive and mundane tasks, transactional jobs can become more efficient and productive. This could include automating data entry, document processing, and other administrative tasks.

Secondly, with the rise of big data and analytics tools, transactional jobs can benefit from better data management and analysis. Then with the help of Collaborative tools such as instant messaging, video conferencing, and project management software can help employees work together more effectively, even if they are located in different locations.

This technology has the potential to significantly impact the job market, especially for white-collar workers. ChatGPT will make all transactional jobs "disappear" and only strategic ones will remain. For instance, ChatGPT can collect data, write different kinds of content, etc. But most of the organisations in India are looking for transformation given the shape of the economy. CEOs are dealing with unpredictability in the environment which brings us to the question of what human capital strategies one needs to deploy to remain effective.
