Celebrity Chef's directorial debut 'The Last Colour' enters the Oscar race
Michelin Celebrity Chef Vikas Khanna, who tried his hands in direction, has now entered the golden race. Vikas Khanna’s directorial debut ‘The Last Colour’ has made its way to the Oscar race.
The film has found its place in a list of feature films for the Academy Awards. The chef took to Twitter and penned down his feelings.
His handle read, ‘Being a Michelin chef, no one would ever take this risk. To start something so new in this creative field... But some inner voice made me do it. Just to be eligible for Oscars 2020. (Best Feature Film.) Just to be on this list.’
He said that the story, screenplay, scenes, concept, characters, music were penned at the banks of the river Ganga. He said that he felt a certain connection with the river Ganga, which made him take this step.
The film though not released in India, was screened at the Mumbai Film Festival last year.
Produced by Odisha based producer Jitendra Mishra and helmed by Vikas Khanna, The Last Colour revolves around the lives of widows residing in sites of Varanasi and Vrindavan, and stars veteran actor Neena Gupta in the central role.
