C-DoT aiding DoT in central registry for PM-WANI project

C-DOT is an autonomous telecom R&D centre of DoT, Government of India. The organization has been working relentlessly in R&D for over three decades in indigenous design, development and production of telecom technologies. Over the years C-DOT has evolved into a full-fledged telecom R&D institution that complies with level-5 maturity on CMMI model, and has capabilities to undertake large-scale state-of-the-art telecom technologies development programs.
For the ambitious project of Government of India, PM-WANI or Prime Minister Wi-Fi Access Network Interface, a central registry will be set-up which will maintain details of all app providers, PDOAs and PDOs. The registry will be handled by the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DoT). The PM-WANI framework envisages provision of Broadband through Public Wi-Fi Hotspot providers. The project consists of elements such as Public Data Office (PDO), Public Data Office Aggregator (PDOA), App Provider and Central Registry.
