Canon introduces two new range of cameras PowerShot and IXUS

Canon has recently announced a range of new cameras in its PowerShot and IXUS series. The new models in the IXUS series are targeted at consumers who desire a reliable, intuitive, point and shoot camera with superb image quality.

Ranging from 18x to 50x optical zoom and packed with intuitive framing and auto-zoom features, the PowerShot SX710 HS, SX610 HS and SX530 HS leaves plenty of room for travelers to take in the sights. Each model is designed to suit a specific type of traveler.

With sleek designs that fit snugly into pockets, the powerful lenses of the 30x zoom PowerShot SX710 HS and 18x zoom PowerShot SX610 HS will delight travelers seeking a compact camera that can go the distance. The new PowerShot SX530 HS is engineered for exceptional long-range photography with a 50x zoom lens and superior ergonomics that include a comfortable grip and a form factor designed for maximizing stability when zooming in for a shot.

Slim Compact series with up to 30x zoom; For travellers who value convenience and like to travel light, the PowerShot SX710 HS and PowerShot SX610 HS make ideal travel companions, epitomising performance with powerful zoom lenses in streamlined designs. The PowerShot SX710 HS boasts a 20.3 megapixel sensor with a long-reaching 30x, 25-750mm (35mm equivalent) zoom lens. Similarly, the PowerShot SX610 HS uses a 20.2 megapixel sensor and is equipped with an 18x, 25-450mm (35mm equivalent) zoom lens.

The PowerShot SX610 HS features the new Auto Zoom mode. This newly improved feature detects the ideal zoom setting for each frame, which comes in handy when travellers need to ask a passerby unfamiliar with the camera’s zoom settings to take their photo.

IXUS series of cameras are compact and user-friendly with intelligent zoom and image stabilization for spontaneous moments.

The new IXUS 170 and IXUS 160 feature high resolution of 20.0 megapixel CCD at a competitive price point. Exuding the IXUS signature style of elegance in simplicity, the new cameras are thoughtfully designed in sleek and streamlined form factor. With ZoomPlus technology, an intuitive imaging technology unique to Canon which dramatically doubles the zoom range in both cameras, the IXUS 170 and 160 with optical zooms of 12x and 8x respectively, will now be able to achieve a zoom range of up to 24x and 16x respectively.
