Bridging the Gap Between the Security You Have and the Security You Need
The demand for security solutions continues to grow and is consistent around the globe and across organisations of all sizes. In the recent Sophos 2021 Threat Report it stated that as the world shifted to remotely working in 2020, cybercriminals upped their game, devising innovative ways to exploit organisations to launch sophisticated ransomware attacks. As a result, IT admins scrambled to meet work-from-home security requirements, highlighting the need for them to shift focus on, and adjust their game plans to tackle the new and rising threats particularly that of ransomware. As ransom groups put more effort into active attacks against larger organizations, the ransoms they demand have risen precipitously. The report reveals that in the past quarter alone, the average ransom payout has risen by 21%, to the equivalent of $233,817.30, payable in cryptocurrency. A year ago, the average payout was $84,116, thus highlighting the growing threat of ransomware, and the need to deploy predictive IT security technology that can coordinate defenses to ward off attacks.
Industry analysts also predict that the Indian cybersecurity services industry is expected to grow to about $7.6 billion in 2022 from $4.3 billion at present. At a growth rate of about 21 per cent, it is expected to be worth $13.6 billion by 2025 highlighting that organizations are moving more towards MSP (Managed Service Providers) and are also outsourcing the highly advanced services like Managed Detection and Response in order to have 24x7 threat hunting against sophisticated attacks including ransomware. To businesses need to be on top of the evolving threat landscape and upgrade their cybersecurity capabilities from isolated security solutions that don’t share threat intelligence. Co-ordinated defense against cybercrime is a simple yet effective cybersecurity approach that provides better protection and spend less time responding to incidents. Additionally to combat advanced coordinated attacks it is high time Indian businesses start investing in 24x7 threat hunting by cybersecurity expert for the threats that can circumvent even the layered cybersecurity system.
In light of the above, we would like to invite you to speak to Sunil Sharma, Managing Director Sales, Sophos India & SAARC, who can deep dive into what Sophos is doing in such a scenario, the company’s plans for 2021 and more. Sharing a few talkpoints below for your reference.
