Bharti Airtel partners with Nokia to leverage its Hybrid Self-Organizing Networks Solution – SON
Bharti Airtel has tied up with Nokia to improve operational efficiency and service quality by leveraging Nokia’s Hybrid Self-Organizing Networks (SON) solution. The solution uses predictive machine learning and interworks with analytics platforms, enabling the operator to take proactive action to optimize network utilization and improve the customer experience.
Integrating analytics with Nokia, SON solution provides holistic insight on network performance and customer experiences, enabling Airtel to address network congestion and service degradations before they impact the customer. It is a crucial step in Airtel’s journey in developing its Digital Network Operations Centre (NOC) to meet the evolving needs of its subscribers and provide a superior customer experience.
Nokia and Airtel have been continuously working together to identify new use-cases and enhance the capabilities of the SON platform.
Abhay Savargaonkar, Director – Networks (India and South Asia), Bharti Airtel, said, “We have a longstanding partnership with Nokia and this initiative is the beginning of a new chapter in our relationship. Our collaboration with Nokia in taking SON to the next level by integrating it with other data sources and machine learning capabilities, enables us to proactively address network performance dips and outages even before a customer experiences them. We are committed to providing the best possible network experience to our subscribers, and this is an important step in that direction.”
Sanjay Malik, Head of India Market, Nokia, said, “We are delighted to partner with Airtel in delivering on their vision of a Digital NOC. We are confident that our proven expertise will enable Airtel to manage complex multi-technology networks by automatically minimizing the risk of human error. It will help Airtel maintain its leadership position by efficiently managing the exponential data growth in the Indian market. We will be working with Airtel to innovate on the new use-cases while addressing their operational challenges and business objectives.”
Nokia’s Hybrid SON solution, comprised of Nokia EdenNet SON software integrated with Airtel’s multi-vendor radio network fabric, improves network performance by automatically identifying and resolving network issues and managing network capacity in real time.
