BenQ to offer monitors for Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) Season 8
BenQ has reportedly announced its extended official monitor sponsorship of the upcoming Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) Season 8, an elite global professional gaming tour organized by Electronics Sports League (ESL), taking place from July 2013 to March 2014. This being the third consecutive year for the company to partake in this grand event, BenQ has readied 107 XL2420T models and 65 XL2411T from its flagship line of professional gaming monitors for battle. Like all other BenQ professional gaming monitors, the XL2420T and XL2411T make a potent testament to BenQ’s expertise, passion and relentless pursuit of game-changing display innovation and its principle design philosophy of “Gaming Is in the Detail”.
It means the world to us to have a partner that is fully in sync with our core philosophy. I am proud that we have built such a long-standing relationship with BenQ because their monitors are a part of the perfect environment we create for gamers, said Micha Blicharz, Director of Pro Gaming, ESL.
The IEM 8 tour was kicked off on July 25th in Shanghai, China. Besides the participating athletes, visitors of the Shanghai stop were given the chance to experience the monitors first- hand as well at the Intel Booth, where the monitors were set up with the League of Legends and StarCraft II, the two major games in competition. BenQ also invited and sponsored the former WarCraft III superstar and now StarCraft II pro gamer Manuel “Grubby” Schenkhuizen and Virtus.pro’s Slivko to compete at the Shanghai stop, as well as interact with fans in BenQ social media activities and raffles. During IEM Shanghai, BenQ further announced the launch of its latest professional gaming model, the RL2240HE for Real Time Strategy (RTS) gaming.
