BEML Limited, a ‘Miniratna-Category-1’, serves India’s core sectors like Defence, Rail, Power, Mining and Infrastructure. On its journey to become a system integrator, BEML will outsource a substantial part of manufacturing activities from Indian vendors, enabling it to enhance the capacity, attain cost effectiveness and improve competitiveness in the global market. To facilitate outsourcing, the company has well established policies, procedures and guidelines.
BEML has forayed into the manufacture and supply of hi-tech Metro Cars in 2002. BEML bagged the order for supply of seven train sets of six cars each i.e, 42 metro coaches valued at around Rs 400 crore from Bangalore Metro Corporation Limited (BMRCL).
In line with digital transformation, BEML has selected SAP business suite to bring a more integrated and seamless approach to internal processes. The business applications will provide BEML better insights into the enterprise-wide analysis, based on real-time data and key performance indicators.
