Bank of America appoints Nilesh Mhatre as CIO
Nilesh Mhatre has joined Bank of America (India) as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO). Mhatre was previously the CIO at The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) India.
Nilesh Mhatre has over 25 years of extensive exposure to diversified technologies in the banking and financial services domain. His association with HSBC India began in August 1991, where his role involved conceptualizing, planning and executing all software delivery initiatives across the Group’s customer interface entities in India. Also he provided IT governance support in the APAC region, including Sri Lanka, Mauritius and Bangladesh. Prior to spearheading IT at HSBC India, Mhatre served as the Senior – IT Manager at Bank Muscat from June 1999 to July 2001.
His success story for Project, with Credit Card offering, turnaround time from application-to-approval has significantly executed & reduced by him from 15 Days to two Days, made him outstanding among HSBC IT benchmark. He was involved in conceptualization, planning and execution of all software delivery initiatives across the Group’s customer interface departments in India. It is a one-stop solution for card acquisition for both customers and sales agents. The end-to-end business process automation, along with third-party integrations such as Aadhaar-eKYC, PAN-eKYC, income document validation, etc., has also reduced customer acquisition costs.
