Arris all set to acquire Ruckus Wireless and ICX switch business
Arris is all set to acquire Ruckus Wireless and assets related to ICX switch business from Broadcom. The deal will be of over $800 million. This transaction will take place only after Broadcom’s acquisition of Brocade which is likely to be finalised sometime in the third fiscal quarter.
The deal also ensures that close-to 1,600 employees and a wide network of enterprise channel partners will be a part of Arris after the closing of deal.
This will help Arris to expand its product offerings. After the acquisition, Arris, an IP, video and broadband equipment maker which mainly caters to the home segment, will get an easy entry to the enterprise market with Ruckus’ products and ICX switches. Both the product portfolios are aimed at the enterprise segment. Moreover, the company will also get hold of Ruckus’s vast channel partners that cater to the enterprise segment and will empower Arris to have a strong footprint in the industry.
Ruckus is one of the leading companies in the Wi-Fi infrastructure market which enables the carriers and enterprises to stay ahead of the demand for high-bandwidth applications and services.
