Airtel supports Hyderabad Marathon as its Title Sponsor

Airtel today announced that it has extended its association with the Hyderabad Runners Society for three years as the title sponsor for the Airtel Hyderabad Marathon, starting 2019. This revised engagement ensures Airtel continues its association with one of India’s largest marathons held annually in the ‘City of Pearls’.
Bharti Airtel and the Government of Telangana support the annual Airtel Hyderabad Marathon, organized by the Hyderabad Runners, a twelve year old not for profit society that has been actively promoting running, healthy lifestyle choices and running as a preferred form of fitness activity as well as a sport.
“Airtel’s name has become synonymous with the Hyderabad Marathon, having been title sponsors" since 2011. Airtel has played a part in nurturing Hyderabad's passion for running, and together with Hyderabad Runners, we aim to develop the Airtel Hyderabad Marathon into one of Asia's best," said Avneet Singh Puri, CEO, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, Bharti Airtel.
“Our passion for running and wellness was our motivation to organize the Airtel Hyderabad Marathon, our flagship event, and making Hyderabad a preferred running destination. We are very grateful to Airtel for their committed support for the marathon right from our very first edition in 2011 and are delighted by their continued commitment to running, Hyderabad Runners and the city of Hyderabad with this three year contract,” said Dr. Murali Nannapaneni, President, Hyderabad Runners Society.
He added “ With Airtel’s partnership we hope to make Hyderabad Marathon the most technologically advanced and connected marathons in the country, both for runners and spectators, as we continue to look for more ways to improve the runners experience in the race. Airtel’s digital engagement will bring an element of immersive experiences to engage in the marathon in new ways across multiple touch points: before, during and after the race for the participants.”
Like each year, the 2019 edition of this annual sporting extravaganza will be held on August 24th and 25th with an expected active participation of over 30,000 runners from across the country and globe, the company said in a statement.
