Adopting smart means to conserve natural resources

Energy is essential for the growth of all human beings and most of the energy we consume comes from hydrocarbons, with crude oil being the dominant source. It makes adverse impact on the environment. Hence best way to reduce that impact is to use the energy efficiently. I work with the company “Energy Efficiency Services Ltd“ with the vision of Universal access to sustainable energy solutions to enable a low carbon future, with significant economic and social impact. South Asia's first and foremost energy efficiency leader, EESL leads the market activities of the National Mission for Enhanced Energy Efficiency (NMEEE), one of the eight national missions under the Prime Minister’s National Action Plan on Climate Change.
 

For this goal, we are implementing the world’s largest energy efficiency portfolio using digital initiative:
1. Zero-subsidy domestic LED bulb programme UJALA
2. Street light replacement programme SNLP
3. Agricultural Demand Side Management programme (AgDSM)

 
EESL has implemented many IT driven initiative/ technology to provide efficient solutions with quality at affordable price. Some of them are -

 
IOT Based Solutions
 
CCMS (Central Control and Monitoring System) in smart LED Street Lights -

Ten million of conventional street lights have been replaced with energy efficient smart LED based street light at approx 1500 urban local bodies and most of them are remotely monitored 24*7*365 through CCMS for any fault tolerance, switch on and off etc.

 
The new trend of Intelligent Streetlight is concentrated on both economic and environmental sensitive developments. CCMS is the first of its kind IoT based technology which is being used in monitoring the street lighting system of civic bodies in the country. We pioneered in implementing CCMS based street lighting solution in the country which had addressed Remote Monitoring and Controlling of LED lights.

 
Smart Metering 

EESL is helping utilities to reduce billing inefficiencies by installing smart meters through the Smart Meter National Programme (SMNP).  GPRS based smart meters are installed and connected with head-end system, Meter data management and are integrated with billing system.

We had setup the complete IoT and secure cloud based solution which will help to replace India’s 250 million conventional meters with smart meters to increase billing efficiencies and reduce aggregate technical and commercial loss. With this, consumers can plan use of electricity via mobile apps to reduce the cost and in turn save the electricity.

 
 Adoption of SAP-ERP 

We have implemented world class leading SAP ERP solution on HANA database which helps us to manage & optimise Man, Machine, Money and Material which in turn increases productivity, better inventory management, promotes quality, reduced material cost, effective human resource management, reduce overheads and boosts profits. This has increased operational efficiency, productivity and transparency within and beyond the organisation.

 
Management Dashboards

We have implemented complete IT based analytics solution for all the EESL business schemes with Management dashboards which helps our Management and customers to track the overall project progress, energy savings and CO2 reduction.

 
Customer Support Centre for all schemes

Based on the business dynamics and to provide quick services to the consumers we have call centre set ups in North and South which supports almost all regional languages for better customer interaction and increased throughput which leads to improved customer services and give fast track  solution  and also address the stake holders grievances . In nutshell we have satisfied customers and happy stake holders.
