Actor Deepika Padukone unveils the FIFA World Cup 2022 trophy
The FIFA World Cup 2022 trophy in Qatar was unveiled by actor Deepika Padukone and former Spanish footballer and World Cup winner Iker Casillas, shortly before the final match between Argentina and France on Sunday.
The trophy, which was kept in a custom Louis Vuitton trunk, was put on display later on the pitch.
The final match was played at the Lusail Iconic Stadium in Qatar.
Earlier in the day, Padukone shared an image of a Louis Vuitton trophy trunk book on her Instagram Stories.
On the workfront, Deepika Padukone, 36, will be seen in Shah Rukh Khan-starrer "Pathaan" that is slated to be released on January 25. She will also be seen in "Project K" with Amitabh Bachchan and Prabhas.
At the FIFA World Cup 2022 final, Argentina emerged the World Cup champions, defeating the defending champion, France. Argentina captain Lionel Messi scored two goals and then another in a shootout as Argentina beat France 4-2 on penalties to claim a third World Cup title.
Messi achieved what Diego Maradona did thirty-six years ago, at the 1986 World Cup in Mexico.
