A decent beginning for Atempo
Kamal Gulati,
Head - India Operations, Atempo
Atempo is a leading global data management organization, which started its operations way back in 1991 in France. Headquartered in the US, Atempo has offices in 14 other major countries across the globe. In India, the company first set up its office in Delhi a year back and is planning to expand its presence to Mumbai and Bangalore shortly. The India operations are looked after by six employees and the company enjoys the trust of each one of its 50+ corporate customers.
The core focus areas for Atempo are laptop and desktop backup, File Archival for media and Entertainment and Remote server backup and complex environment server backup. It enables organizations to protect, manage, archive, and recover digital information simply and effectively, across any infrastructure, on any platform, over any period of time.
Since its inception, Atempo has been coming up with lots of technical innovations for the data management industry and serving clients that cut across all kinds of verticals. SRF Industries, JK Papers, Tea Exchange, DS Constructions, MTS Telecom, Smartchip, Kusum Healthcare, YKK, Group4 Securities, The Leprosy Mission Trust India, Symphony Service Corporation, Tejas Network, L&T / Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, Pepsico India Holdings Pvt. Ltd., Ricoh India, Hotel Claridges, J K Lakshmi Cement and Oriflame can be cited as some of the clients served by Atempo. “Our focus is largely on the enterprise and large organizations, but for file archival our current focus is on the media and entertainment segment,” says Kamal Gulati, Head - India Operations, Atempo. “For backup though, it is tough to segmentize the verticals but manufacturing and the hospitality industry have been early adaptors for us. It will be better if I say that distributed infrastructure organizations are the focus market for Atempo India,” he further adds.
Going further, the company would love to build on its partner base and also add a few more clients, but without taking it beyond 100. As Kamal says, “We are very selective of every customer and try to indentify their needs and requirements before arriving at any conclusion. Customers, on their part, should treat us as their trusted partner.”
